First days home

We're having a great time welcoming Wyatt home... Zanna is such a great helper and also such a sweet loving big sister. Wyatt's personality is easygoing and super sweet. We've been calling him quiet Wyatt :)

Here are some shots of our first lazy days at home!

It's a BOY!!!!!

"You are fearfully and wonderfully made." again, as it was with the ultrasound when I first laid eyes on him, that Psalm sprang to my heart upon seeing him face to face today.

Our son, Wyatt Lee Allen was born
May 21st at 7:05 PM. He weighed 6.5 lbs and was 20'' long.

Big sister Zanna is overjoyed and loves to cuddle near mommy and baby, is fascinated by him and tomorrow will hold him for the first time.

Daddy and Mommy can't stop saying "we have a son!" and smiling at his beautiful face. In my mom's mothers day card to me she claimed that our love would somehow miraculously multiply exponentially upon the birth of our second child, and now I understand. I wasn't sure my heart could hold this much love, but it can and does.

He's named Wyatt because we fell in love with the name and couldn't get away from it, and Lee after his Poppy (Cam's dad). It somehow suits him just perfectly, just how I felt Zanna's name fits her when I saw her for the first time.

We're tired, but more than that were ecstatic.

A doodlebug mansion

Have I mentioned Zannas recent obsession with doodlebugs?? She is keenly aware of their whereabouts, even finding them in our church sanctuary at times....

So we've been trying to learn more about doodlebugs, so far our knowledge is limited to knowing they're really called pill bugs (the library has nothing on pill bugs!) and today, we decided to make a doodlebug mansion.... So here is her masterpiece, now complete with its first tenant. If you can't read the writing, it says "house doodlebug Zanna"....

Neighbors....and the best mothers day gift

Zanna got her first invitation to come out and play today... So she enjoyed a lengthy doodle bug hunt with our next door neighbors Nicole and Jordan. It was so sweet to sit outside and listen to them play and explore in our yard... Ah, childhood fun!

In non-related news, today is mothers day and while Baby Allen decided not to celebrate by coming out to meet me, big sister has treated me like royalty! At church she made me a teacup gift complete with a tea bag, offered me a flower and was just plain adorable :) after church, she and dad of the year took me to my favorite place for brunch, blue star cafeteria where I had an absolutely delicious virgin bloody Mary and I'm ready to go back for the real deal soon! Spicy and delicious! The best was coming home to a homemade mothers day card.... Best gift ever! Being a momma may be hard work, but it's the most rewarding work I've ever taken on! Happy mothers day!!

It's fun to play at the Y-M-C-A

We just joined the Y as a family and love it! We've been going often to swim and to play basketball together in the gym etc. Zanna always sings the YMCA song when we're going which is hilarious!

She started swim lessons today for the next couple of weeks... Something to keep us busy before baby arrives. She's so brave when she's in a class like that, I'm always impressed that she's willing to try anything. In fact, today she was disappointed that they didn't jump off the side :)
Here's some of my little fish...
