So, evidently we have this tradition where close to my due date (3 days last time, 1 month this time) we go for an unbelievably long hike. Now, each time it starts out more innocently than that, cuz believe me, I'm not crazy enough to just want to waddle long distances!! Last time, we went out for a 1 or so mile walk with friends and got terribly lost and ended up going 5 miles.... This time, Cam had convinced me that the hike to this waterfall in Colorado Bend State park would be so worth it and just 2.5 miles total. Well, sign me up I thought. It was gorgeous out today so we drove out there and got started, packing a picnic with us. Well, 2.5 miles was more like 8!!! Seriously. So with a 3 year old and an 8 month pregnant woman, we hiked 8 miles today. Yes, it took us all day, and yes, I ate like a horse when it was all said and done. But, We did it and now, I guess, it really is a tradition. I'm just hoping the distance doesn't get longer with each kid cuz I'm not quite sure I could go much longer than I did today...
Here's us at the 3 mile mark, still smiling....then, here's Cam and Zanna hiking, all of us at a rest point,7 miles in(notice who's not walking anymore :)), me finishing first :), and then the grand finale of a sleeping 3 year old about 2 minutes into the drive home....

Did you ever make it to the waterfall? If so, was it worth it? :-)
