Wegomo 2010
Mo Ranch Youth Celebration marks a milestone in our family's life. It is the first extended period of time I have spent without Zanna since her birth 16 months ago. Before this trip, I had only spent 2 nights away from her for the confirmation retreat. I missed her terribly, and Cameron deserves a gold medal and anything his heart desires for at least a week for being an outstanding "single parent" for a week. The heartache of being away from my baby was massaged somewhat by the awesome people that were at Mo with me. I brought three girls from FPC Austin and we all had a tremendous time growing in God's grace together, and laughing, and "partying like Presbyterians." Small Group #18 was in another's words, "legit", (even if our small group leader thought eating 4 warheads at once was going to be fun.... ICK!) and all in all, it was a long but fabulous 6 days away from the two loves of my life. And, in just one short week, I'll have to bid them farewell again when we'll pile into the 15 passenger van and head to Heifer Ranch for a week of service and learning. I'm blessed to do it.

Allens Reunited at Possum Kingdom!
The whole Allen clan got together at Possum Kingdom Lake for a week of relaxing, boating, laughter and FOOD :) a few weeks ago. It was absolutely wonderful to see Grammy and Poppy state-side and the three cousins had a blast playing together! Brynn's 6th birthday was right before our trip, so I bought Zanna and Brynn matching "big girl" pjs...they thought it was fun to coordinate like that! Favorite memories from the week... Cam on the Intertube, Apples to Apples, Phase 10, Cake for breakfast for the Bragg Triplets' birthday, and GRAMMY AND POPPY hanging out with Zanna! It's my blog, so I can say it, I wish they would come home.
BBQ for Breakfast!
For Father's Day, Cam wanted to go to Snow's BBQ in Lexington, Tx. It's about an hour and a half east of Austin and is only open on Saturdays. It opens at 8 AM and stays open till they sell out. It's a cute little family-owned place and they don't make much bbq every Saturday, so it evidently usually sells out by noon. Not to worry, we were there at 9 AM :) Yes, at 9 AM, the Allen family ate 1 lb of brisket, a few ribs and a sausage.... for breakfast. All of us fell into a deep meat-coma later that afternoon... we're talking 2-3 hour naps for the whole fam.
And, yes, it was worth it. We'll be back, Snow's- next Father's Day.
And, Cam is the greatest dad ever :)
