More of our trip to Dallas...

Here's Zanna meeting Grammy and Poppy and hanging out at Mimi's house, and then hanging out with Mimi and Aunt Stevie.... it was a good trip!

Zanna's First Trip!

We went to Dallas to visit family and friends and Zanna met TONS of people!
We even got to surprise Grammy and Poppy when they had just arrived from Brussels, Belgium! It was a wonderful trip but we were glad to get back to Austin to see Cameron!

Make new friends...

On Zanna's one month "birthday", she had a special treat! She got to meet two of her new friends, Gracie and Eric. It was REALLY special to meet them and all of us went to Amy's Ice Cream for a treat for the mommies. Here are pictures of Zanna and her newest friends... Zanna looks so tiny compared to both Gracie and Eric, but we know she'll catch up :) Eric is now 7 months old and Gracie is 3 months old.

Zanna is one week old!

Seems like only yesterday we were bringing her home, but now she's been in our world for one full week. Our lives are blessed. :)

She's here!

Hello world! The moment has arrived... she's here!
Suzanna Grace Allen, 'Zanna', made her grand entrance on Friday, February 27th at 2:27 PM. She weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz. and was 20 inches long. We are blown away by her, she's absolutely amazing. When I first held her in my arms, I immediately thought of the psalm that says I praise you O God for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. She is definitely fearfully and wonderfully made by God.
She had lots of family come in for the big day: thanks to Mimi, Aunt Stevie, Grampa, Linda, Great Aunt Carol, Great Aunt Vicki, Super-Cousin Ember, Super-Cousin Alyssa for coming to meet her at the hospital and welcoming her home. She's now even met her godmother, Allison Harris, who came over last night for a visit and a cuddle. More pictures later....

Today?

I'm headed to the doctor this morning and we're packing our hospital bags just in case. The doctor told me that she "needed" to see me if I hadn't had the baby by today, and, obviously, since you haven't seen the baby announcement, she's still inside my womb! So, I don't know if that means she'll schedule an induction for today or tomorrow, but I hope so. I cannot wait to meet our daughter, and my brain is totally mommied right now, so I need her to get here so I have an actual excuse for that to be the case :) Well, we'll keep people posted. Like I said before, Cam and I have a baby announcement email list and we're going to try to send it out pretty close to time, so if you want to add your name to it, send me a message and I'll get you on there some how some way! (even if it's a little bit late!)

Tomorrow's the due date!

Well, here we are... tomorrow is the day we have been anticipating ever since our first sonogram, and what is so strange is that it very well could not be Zanna's birth-day.... she may very well deide to ignore the doctor and our persistent pleas to come out and see us and wait a few days. I just wanted to reflect on what I am thankful for today, as a 9-month pregnant mom-to-be....
Today, I'm thankful for....
  • friends who text or call just to say " I'm thinking about you"
  • smoothies at Jamba Juice
  • church members who call me a "ticking time-bomb" :)
  • having a husband who willingly cooks dinner (and likes to do it!)
  • peace and quiet
  • having the time to relax and have nothing, truly nothing, pressing to do
  • baby kicks and wiggles
  • God's abundant love
  • feeling GREAT even with a 30+ pound addition to my body!
  • laughing so hard with a co-worker that I think I might explode (talking about Eklund (spelling?) from the book of Judges, of all things...)
Well, we'll see! Either tomorrow will be the day, or it won't be.... whatever the case is, I'm grateful to be healthy and happy today and ready to meet my baby girl face-to-face whenever she's ready to meet us.....
