Growing up....

Wyatt is growing up so much! At almost 4 months old, he's a smiling, laughing, happy baby. He is SO easy-going (unless his belly's empty!) and easily amused by his silly big sister. Zanna is loving all his interactions-especially his newfound giggle! She LOVES to make him laugh and comes up with silly songs and noises to crack him up.
I was very nervous about him going to "school" since he's so little and cuz I'm a nervous Nellie sometimes, but he's been loving it and I love how well cared for he is there. He goes to Gethsemane Lutheran Church two days a week and he's enjoying Ms. Vicki and Ms. Jeannie and the other kids who are in his class. I've been amazed that every time I've walked in, there are 6 happy contented babies ! Only once have I heard a cry and it was my own son noticing mom was there to feed him. They do a good job of keeping the babies full, played with and happy! That helps me feel good about my sweet baby boy being away from me!

Wyatt's baptism!

Wyatt Lee was baptized today at First Presbyterian Church! What a special and meaningful worship it was, with our dear friends and family present! Pastor Terry baptized Wyatt, and his godparents, Marta and David Ukropina, were there as well and affirmed their intention to help us raise Wyatt as a disciple of Jesus Christ!

Afterwards, we enjoyed several hours of playtime and a delicious lunch... Thankful for family and friends traveling to be with us!

Life as we know it.

So, we're slowly working our way into a new normal.... Wyatt is now three months old, I've been back at work for 2 weeks now ( and preached twice already-CRAZY!). Life with 2 kids is overwhelming in many ways: overwhelmingly wonderful and overwhelmingly tiring, and overwhelmingly full of love. We're all enjoying being a family of four and its been fun watching Wyatt get more and more personality. He's SO chill... Often only fussing a tiny bit when hungry and that's it. He's smiling quite a bit now, both Dad and Mom have heard him laugh once and he's working really hard on trying to lift that heavy head of his.

Big sister is busy-she starts back to school next week and she is very excited! Her interests right now lie in insects, writing (she LOVES to figure out how to write names of people and words) and yes, still anything fancy or princess! ;)

Allen Family Vacation 2012

To celebrate Debby's 60th birthday which was in June, the whole Allen clan headed to Myrtle Beach for a full week of playing poolside, riding the waves and general merriment. It was a fantastic trip from start to finish and we made some wonderful family memories! It was especially fun to see Zanna play with cousins Brynn and Bridger, and I always love good Aunt Sarah time with my niece and nephew!

One month old!

Check out the difference.... 3 days old and one month old! Wow. Time has flown but also crawled.... We are loving getting to know sweet Wyatt. I'm so glad to have time off of work to simply concentrate on my family and enjoy these sweet, sleep-deprived, precious moments.

First weeks at home

It's been a whirlwind! Sometimes it feels like time has stopped and other times like it's speeding past. Wyatt is such a pumpkin and his big sister is every bit as sweet. (I'm not biased :) )
